    Wood is naturally antibacterial. It can take less than 10 minutes for hardwoods, such as birch to absorb around 99.9% of bacteria from food which helps to minimize cross contamination. Scientific studies have also shown that bacterias on wooden cutting boards are completely gone after 24 hours. Our boards are also very easy to clean and maintain, making them very hygienic.

    Using a cutting board, regardless of the material, causes it to chip or create micro particles which are then often ingested . Micro particles from a cutting board made of birch will dissolve and be eliminated from your body naturally. A plastic cutting board easily releases microplastics, which can remain in your body for the rest of your life and accumulate over time.

    All the cutting boards I make are made from sustainably sourced Finnish birch. So I can proudly say that the wood and manufacturing are completely Finnish. After extensive research, I have concluded that Finnish birch is the best wood for making cutting boards. Birch has key advantages over many other commonly used woods.
